Matthew is an active member of the NYC performing community. His Broadway touring credits include leading roles in productions of Crazy for You, Anything Goes, and The King and I. Last year, Matthew toured the United States with the Broadway company of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and can be heard singing a solo track on the 2005-2006 touring cast album. Other albums include Broadway composer Billy Solly’s Greatest Hits, and On The Transmigration of Souls (2004 Grammy Award for Classical Album).
Broadway: Children and Art (New Amsterdam Theatre). Off Broadway: A Tale of Two Cities (Lamb’s Club Theatre) and the new musical Angel on My Shoulder (York Theatre Co.).
Regional theatre: Miss Saigon (Westchester Broadway Theatre), On Your Toes (Cape Playhouse), Hot Mikado (Fulton Opera House). Additional companies: Theatre Under the Stars (Houston, TX), West Virginia Public Theatre, Gateway Playhouse, Trinity Repertory Company, Emelin Theatre, Paper Mill Playhouse (where he danced alongside Broadway legend Chita Rivera), and the Connecticut Repertory Theatre (8 productions). Some of Matt’s favorite roles include: Sparky in Forever Plaid, Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz, Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar, and Don Lockwood in Singin’ in the Rain.
As a classical singer, Matthew has performed with both the New York Choral Artists and the New York Virtuoso Singers, the choral groups who sing regularly with the New York Philharmonic and the American Symphony Orchestra. He has performed on several stages at Lincoln Center, as well as at Carnegie Hall, under the batons of Loren Maazel, Daniel Barenboim, Kurt Masur, and James Levine. Matthew is also on the roster for the extras chorus at the Metropolitan Opera House, and has sung in the Met’s productions of Moses Und Aron, Parsifal, and Die Meistersinger.
Matt is a member of AEA, AGMA, and AFTRA. Matt received his BM in Voice and BS in Education from The University of Connecticut in 1998, graduating summa cum laude. Currently, Matt serves as musical director/cantor for Corpus Christi church in Woodside, NY.
